Michael Alexander

Recycling Container Aficionado
(and President)

At Recycle Away, Michael designs the most attractive and functional containers in the industry. Like the paparazzi, he is often chased down by corporate sustainability directors, facility managers and interior designers. He is the rock star of recycling. Michael is available for private consultations in recycling supply chain logistics, and zero waste initiatives.

Michael brings over 20 years of experience in sustainability, recycling and business development to our company. Michael has delivered consulting services to corporations, NGOs and governments across North America to improve their recycling and environmental systems. He has helped these clients quantify reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and energy use, and frame these achievements into annual sustainability reports. Prior to launching Recycle Away, Michael served as Director of Policy and Research for the National Recycling Coalition for seven years, and Program Manager for the Northeast Recycling Council for nine years. In 1989, Michael began his career in the environmental field as an analyst with the New York State Office of Recycling Market Development, the first agency in the U.S. dedicated to creating markets for recyclables. Throughout his career, Michael has built a diverse national network of colleagues on the front lines of the corporate and government sustainability movement.

James Gelter

Member, Team ProActive, Content Division
(Online Content Creator)

James (or Jay as he's known around the office) not only loves recycling, but he lives it and breathes it. (Please note: Recycle Away does not endorse or recommend the inhaling of any of their products.) Jay spends most of his time hunched over his laptop researching new products, watching YouTube videos of kittens playing the piano, and trying to find out new ways to make your shopping experience at recycleaway.com is as easy and enjoyable as possible.

Martha Haas

Managing Director of Marketing and Bad Coffee
(Marketing Director)

When not keeping the rest of us in line or making toast, Martha just generally gets it done at Recycle Away. She lives with her cat, Smelly Cat, Looch (a golden corgi) and Maybelle, a corgi/border collie cross who is too smart for her own good.

Peter Baldwin

Online Design and Usability Manager
(Online Business Manager)

Peter sees datasets where others see tangible objects. Despite this crippling handicap, he manages to dress himself and sometimes even tie his shoes. He also enjoys such offline pursuits as traveling to exotic lands, making music, and keeping his tendancy toward pedantry in check.
